MARYVILLE, Tennessee- Vic Hill did it again. After claiming the pole for Saturday night’s 40 lap Ultimate Super Late Model A-feature at Smoky Mountain Speedway, Hill never looked back as he went on to claim his second straight victory at the speedway. Hill led comfortably in the early stages of the race until lap traffic became an issue half way to the finish. Tommy Kerr was able to pull within a half a car length of Hill but after a late caution the field was reset and Hill was able to pull away for the win. The victory on Saturday night is Hill’s second straight win at the track this season. Hill won the season opener on April 14 as a part of the Southern All Star Series.
John Cobb picked up his first career victory in the NeSmith Crate Late Modles Saturday Night. Cobb started on the pole and, after the initial start of the race was waved off, was able to pull away for a comfortable victory. “ On the first start he (David Crabtree) got me and I was a little nervous but then they waved it off and I knew I’d get another shot at it,” said Cobb.

David Singleton was able to hang on for the win in the Mini Stock A-Feature. Singleton pulled away from the pack early in the race but as the laps wound down Derek Duggan was able to close the gap only to fall short as the checkered flag waved.
Tom Vann was able to pick up the win in the Modified Mini A-feature.
Smoky Mountain Speedway will be in action next on the June 16th for the big daddy 500 when the Southern All Star Series makes its second trip the track this season.
