MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Mar. 23, 2016 – After the record-setting Tennessee Tipoff Classic on March 12, the Smoky Mountain Speedway will get back to action on Saturday April 2nd hosting the Ultimate Super Late Model Series for a $5,000-to-win event.

 

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will take on the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series in a 40-lap $5,000-to-win race. Along with the Super Late Models, The United Crate Racing Alliance (UCRA) tour will be on hand paying $2,500-to-win and the Street Stocks will also race for $500-to-win. Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga. is the defending Ultimate Super Late Model Series champion. Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn. is a three-time Ultimate series winner at Smoky Mountain with two victories in 2015 and one victory in 2014. Dillon Wood of Daytona Beach, Fla. won in 2013 while Vic Hill of Mosheim, Tenn. and Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C. took victories in 2012.

 

The pits will open on April 2nd at 2:00 pm, while the grandstand and tier parking gates open at 4:00 pm, and the driver’s meeting is set for 6:30 pm and hot laps will roll out around 7:00 pm. Adult general admission for the April 2nd event will be $20.00. Adult tier parking is $25.00 per person and adult pit passes are $35.00.

 

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. captured the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series-sanctioned Tennessee Tipoff Classic presented by Hard Rock Café of Pigeon Forge on March 12thwhich paid the Hall of Famer $15,000 for his efforts. Michael Courtney won the Sportsman Feature on Friday March 11th that paid $2,000 while Robbie Comer claimed the Street Stock feature event win on March 12th which paid $2,000-to-win.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Mar. 11, 2016 – The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil opened up the Tennessee Tipoff Classic presented by Hard Rock Café of Pigeon Forge with preliminary raceson Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway.
Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn. captured the First Heat race, Joey Coulter of Concord, N.C. was victorious in the Second Heat while Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. went on to take the win in Heat Three and Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn. won the Fourth Heat race.
Scott Bloomquist was the fastest qualifier of the stout field of 27 entries with a 14.901 second lap.
Saturday’s program continues with a full show for the Street Stocks ($2,000-to-win) and the Last Chance race and 75 lap $15,000-to-win Tennessee Tipoff Classic finale. The driver’s meeting is set for 6:30 pm tonight and hot laps will roll out around 7:00 pm.

Due to illness in the family of Smoky Mountain Speedway ownership, we have made the decision to cancel the open practice scheduled for Saturday, March 5th.

We will re-schedule the open practice for Thursday evening, March 10th leading into the Tennessee Tipoff Classic weekend. Pit gates will open at 5pm. Practice will run from 6pm-9pm. Pit admission will be $20 per person.

Smoky Mountain Speedway Introduces Fast-Paced 2016 Racing Schedule

MARYVILLE, TN (December 4, 2015)—Officials with the Smoky Mountain Speedway located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains have released the 2016 racing schedule which will feature ten race dates from March through September.
 
“We are really looking forward to the upcoming season, and it will be here before you know it,” said Track Promoter Casey Moses.
 
An open practice for all divisions will greet the race teams on Saturday evening March 5th before the season officially starts the following weekend.
 
Office Manager Dustin Dunlap echoed Moses’ comments. “This is really going to be a great season coming up and we have a lot of good things planned for each event and we look forward to getting to work,” Dunlap stated.
 
The season opening and largest event will be the Third Annual Tennessee Tip-Off Classic paying $15,000-to-win and will be sanctioned by the Ray Cook-promoted Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series. This mega event will be spread across Friday & Saturday March 11/12. Also on the opening weekend, the Sportsman will race for $2,000-to-win and the Street Stocks will compete for $2,000-to-win.
 
The Ray Cook-promoted Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series will return for the fourth straight year on Friday Night July 29th paying $5,300-to-win while the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will return to the track for the first time since 2014 racing for $5,000-to-win on Saturday August 27th andThursday Night September 27th in a special Thursday Night Thunder event.
 
Both national tours will invade Smoky Mountain Speedway again in 2016. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will be back in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday May 7th($10,000-to-win) for the Fourth Annual Mountain Outlaw 50 while the return of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be on Saturday July 9th ($12,000-to-win) during the Third Annual Summer Showdown.
 
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will roll into Smoky Mountain Speedway twice throughout the season with two $5,000-to-win events on Saturday April 2nd and Saturday June 18th for the Big Daddy 500.
 
The Southern All Stars Series will compete at Smoky Mountain for two occasions during the 2016 campaign and both events will pay $5,000 to the winner on Saturday April 23rd for the Rockin’ with the Stars race and Saturday September 17th for the King of the Mountain Hall of Fame Fall Classic. The USCS Sprint Cars will join in with the Southern All Star Super Late Models on Saturday April 23rd for the annual Thunder in the Mountains event.
 
“We are excited to be working with some of the best sanctioning bodies around. They have helped support our track for several years now and those relationships can only continue to grow,” Moses stated.
 
The support classes for each event and payouts for each class will be released at a later date.
 
As with any off-season, Moses and her crew are hard at work preparing for the 2016 campaign which is only months away. “As always we have a busy winter planned with some noticeable upgrades for the 2016 season. Many planned upgrades are in the works and people can be assured they will see more changes over the next few years,” Moses went on to say.
