Coolers: No Coolers allowed in Grandstands. However Coolers are permitted in Tier Parking.

Carry-In Items – To ensure the safety of all Guests, carry-in items will may be inspected prior to entrance. Bags, backpacks, purses, etc. larger than 14″ x 14″ x 14″ will not be permitted into the Speedway in accordance with the Smoky Mountain Speedway size requirement.

Medical: EMT’s, Rural Metro Ambulance, and Greenback Fire Department will be available at every Event.

Golf Carts / ATV’s/ Pit Bikes –  1 ATVs, Gators, Mules, etc will be allowed per Race Team. Fans are Welcome to bring ATV’s, Gators, Mules, Golf Carts in the Pit Area but will be required to pay $20 per vehicle. ABSOLUTELY NO Pit Bikes will be Allowed.

Parking – All Parking is Free.

Radio – Portable radios and headsets are permitted in Smoky Mountain Speedway. The public address system can be heard on FM frequency 97.9.

Seating Update: Fans please remember that chairs will only be allowed on the concrete areas of the grandstands. Small seatbacks and cushions are permitted elsewhere. We ask that fans that are using large chairs use the top rows to prevent blocking others view. If you are wanting a seat on the concrete bleachers please get to the track early. Our stands can withhold large crowds, however, Seating may become limited. Please be courteous to those around you.

Grandstand Gate is the FIRST Entrance coming From Hwy 411 South to Brick Mill Rd.
Tier Parking/ Camping is the SECOND Entrance

Tier Parking is a Tailgate atmosphere, where coolers and small grills are allowed. Parking is first come first serve and cannot be reserved. Please limit the use of tents and canopy’s unless you are on the back row.

There is a walking path from Tier to Pits

What is Tier Parking: Tier Parking is a tailgate atmosphere, where you can park and watch from your vehicle, in the bed of your truck, or in a lawn chair.

Camping: Dry Camping is Available in the Back of Tier Parking for $20 Plus the price of Tickets.
Over sized Vehicles are also subject to a $20 Fee.

Concessions: Arrive hungry, SMS offers full concessions at the Grandstand Gate, and Partial Concessions in Tier Parking and in the Pits. Several food vendors will be onsite for each Event (Funnel Cakes, Kettle Korn, and Pork Rinds Weekly)

Spring Shootout up next for Smoky Mountain Speedway!

The Spring Shootout is being presented by local dirt racing media outlet – Inside Dirt Racing. Please visit their website – www.insidedirtracing.com – for all the news and notes regarding dirt racing in and around East Tennessee. The Saturday, April 1st, event will feature Super Late Models ($7,500 to win), Southeast Dirt Modified Series ($2,000 to win), along with Street Stocks ($500 to win).

Donald McIntosh, of Dawsonville, GA, is the defending winner of the Spring Shootout. McIntosh is also coming off of his first win of 2017, the past weekend at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA. Other drivers that have indicated their intentions of racing at Smoky Mountain on Saturday include Jonathan Davenport (Blairsville, GA), Dale McDowell (Chickamauga, GA), Skip Arp (Georgetown, TN), Shanon Buckingham (Morristown, TN), Tommy Kerr (Maryville, TN), Billy Ogle, Jr. (Knoxville, TN), Jason Croft (Woodstock, GA), Robby Moses (Maryville, TN), David Crabtree (Maryville, TN), Mark Douglas (Knoxville, TN), along with many others from around the region.

The Southeast Dirt Modified Series will make its first appearance at Smoky Mountain on Saturday. It will be the first open wheel modified race held at SMS since March 2015. Taylor Cook of Huntersville, NC and Billy Workman, Jr. of Mooresville, NC, both picked up wins at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, GA this past weekend, which was the season opening events for the SEDMS. Both of these drivers along with several other open wheel modified stars will be in attendance on Saturday night!

On Saturday, April 1st, the pit gates will open at 3pm. Grandstands and Tier Parking will open at 4pm, if traffic begins to back up into Brickmill Road, the gates will open earlier. The driver’s meeting is set for 6pm; with hot laps to immediately follow. Saturday’s grandstand admission is $20 for adults. Adult tier parking admission is $25 and adult pit passes are $35. Kids (ages 6-11) are $5 in the grandstands, $10 in tier parking, and $15 in the pit area. Kids (ages 5 & under) are FREE.

The Super Late Model entry fee is $125 (includes transponder rental) or $110 if you would like to use your own transponder. The tire rule for this event is as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with American Racer 48 and 56. There will be hot laps, time trial qualifying, heat races, and a 50-lap feature for the super late models.

The Open Wheel Modified portion of the show will be sanctioned by the Southeast Dirt Modified Series, and the event will be ran under their rules and format, which will include hot laps, time trial qualifying, heat races, b-main(s) if necessary, along with a 30-lap feature. Electronic timing and scoring will be used for this event as well; and transponders will be available to rent from the track.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Mar. 9, 2016 – With the chance of a wintry mix of weather late Saturday Night into Sunday, officials with Smoky Mountain Speedway have adjusted the start times for the Saturday portion of the Tennessee Tipoff Classic at the Maryville, Tenn. speed-plant.

Thursday’s practice session from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm is on as scheduled as well as Friday’s program which includes Qualifying and Heat Races for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series Super Late Models and a full show for the Sportsman Late Models paying $2,000-to-win.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. will sanction the Fourth Annual Tennessee Tipoff Classic at the Maryville, Tenn. oval. The event pays $15,000-to-win and $750-to-start and boasts a purse in excess of $50,000. The feature distance is 75 laps.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. is the defending race winner which was sanctioned by the Spring Nationals Series. Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga. and Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C. shared Tennessee Tipoff Classic victories during the event in 2014. Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga. claimed the rescheduled 2015 race after a rain out forced the postponement of the event. There have been three different Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series champions with Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind. taking the championship in 2013. Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn. won the series title in 2014 while driving the Blount Motorsports Rocket Chassis and Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. again drove the Blount Motorsports entry to the title in 2015 and last season. The nation’s best drivers will square off against the region’s best during this must-see event.

On Thursday March 9, there will be an open practice session for all divisions from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. The price per person in the pit area is $20.00 while the grandstand will remain closed. Tier parking will be open and free to any spectators. The pits will open at 5:00 pm on Thursday night.

On Friday March 10, the pits will open at 2:00 pm, grandstands and tier parking open at 4:00 pm and the driver’s meeting is set for 6:30 pm. Hot laps will roll out at 7:00 pm. Friday’s program will feature practice, time trials and heat races for the Spring Nationals Series Late Models. The Sportsman Late Models will practice, qualify, heat race and compete 25 laps for $2,000-to-win and $125-to-start in their main event. There is a $50.00 entry fee and includes the transponder rental for the Sportsman division. A 20-car field minimum must be present for advertised purse.

On Saturday March 11, all gates will open at 11:00 am with the driver’s meeting at 1:30 pm and hot laps scheduled to roll out at 2:00 pm. Saturday’s program includes practice, 12-lap last chance races and the 75-lap $15,000-to-win Spring Nationals main event. The Street Stocks will practice, qualify, heat race and compete 25 laps for $2,000-to-win and $125-to-start. There is a $40.00 entry fee and includes the transponder rental for the Sportsman division. A 20-car field minimum must be present for advertised purse.

If 40 or more Super Late Models are signed in for the weekend’s action, there will be a Non-Qualifiers race for cars that have not transferred into the feature event. The race will be 15 laps in distance and the winner plus the second place finisher will have a choice to make. The winner can choose to take $1,000 for the win and load their car or start 23rd in the main event. The second place finisher in the Non-Qualifier race will also have the option of taking $750.00 for the finish or taking the 24th starting spot in the feature event. All drivers that attempt to start the Non-Qualifiers race will receive $100 in tow money. The Spring Nationals Super Late Model entry fee for the Tennessee Tipoff Classic is $125.00. The Super Late Model tire rule for this event is as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56.

A must-see event that will jump start dirt track racing in the East-Tennessee area will be March 9-10-11 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. during the running of the Fourth Annual Tennessee Tipoff Classic.
