Smoky Mountain Speedway
Announces 2022 Schedule
(December
21, 2021) Smoky Mountain Speedway has released the 2022
event schedule that is loaded with a variety of events throughout
the year. The season will get under way on Saturday, March 5 with
the annual Tennessee Tip-Off race. This year’s $12,000 to
win race will be co-sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron Man Series
and the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. The Kajun Mini Stocks
will join the program for a $1,500 to win race. An open practice
is scheduled for Friday, March 4.
The Southern All-Stars return on Saturday, April 23 for the Rockin’
with the Stars $5,000 to win race. The Steelhead Bandits will
also be racing for $5,000 to win. On Saturday, May 28, the Mayhem
in the Mountains will feature the American Pro Late Models and
the Topless Outlaws for $3,000 to win each.
The Mountain Moonshine Classic Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
event has been expanded to a two-night affair on June 17 and 18.
Action gets under way with a pair of $5,000 to win races on Friday,
June 17. The main event takes place on Saturday, June 18 with
a $50,000 to win race, the largest single night purse in the history
of Smoky Mountain Speedway.
The American Pro Late Models return on Saturday, July 9 for the
$10,000 to win Brickmill Bash. The Red Clay Series will also be
a part of the program. Friday, September 2 will see the return
of the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series for
the $10,000 to win Smoky Mountain Showdown. The season concludes
on Saturday, October 8 for the finale of the American Pro Late
Models for $5,000 to win. The 602 Red Clay Series will also race
for $5,000 to win.
Support divisions will be announced in the coming weeks. Non-racing
events that will take place at Smoky Mountain Speedway are the
“Race for Jesus” Crusade on April 3rd through the
6th and the popular Monster Truckz on April 29th through May 1st.
