Mitchell Childress and Skylar Marlar led the field to the green from the front row. Marlar took the early lead while Ross White quickly got by Childress for second on a lap 3 restart. Cardwell took over 4th from Cameron Weaver. As White pressured Marlar for the lead, Cardwell took over third and tracked down the first twosome. Cardwell powered by White for second and began pressuring Marlar for the lead. Cardwell got by Marlar to take the lead on lap 20. Cardwell pulled away over the final 10 laps to easily win the race. White for by Marlar for second with two to go. Marlar held onto third as he broke a rear shock coming to the finish line.

Ryan Tims picked up his first win at Smoky Mountain Speedway in the steel block late model feature. Jed Emert took the initial lead with Tims and Jason Manley battling for second. As Emert struggled with handling, Tims closed in and took the lead with a handful of laps remaining. Emert eventually retired from the race. That left Tims to hold off Manley for the win. Rusty Ballenger finished third.

While Emert did not get the win in the steel block late model feature, he was dominant in the sportsman late model feature. Emert set fast time and wasted no time in getting the lead on his way to the win. Brady Lee came home in second and Kyle Courtney came from 6th to finish third.

Jacob Sharp held off Brandon Porstner to win the front wheel drive feature. Porstner remained close to the rear bumper of Sharp. As the laps clicked off, Sharp remained steady to take the win. Porstner was second and Dakota Lamping finished third.

The next race at Smoky Mountain Speedway takes place on Saturday, September 20 when the Topless Outlaws Late Model Series presented by Jail Breaker Potato Chips visits for the $5,000 to win Hall of Fame 50. During intermission, Scott Bloomquist will be inducted in the Smoky Mountain Speedway Hall of Fame.
